Look up from Lock Down and Breathe

Introduction

This workshop has been specifically designed in response to the emotional challenges experienced during lockdown and the need to readjust to a ‘new normal’ as restrictions are lifted.  It is essential that our individual and collective experiences of the pandemic are acknowledged and that we make time to breathe deeply, reflect and refocus our attention with self care and community support.

At three hours duration, this is an ideal one-off workshop for volunteers and staff returning to a working environment with new protocols and procedures in place.  It is equally beneficial to those who have continued to work on location during lockdown and need to take stock of the changing environment.

Valuable for both personal and professional development, the pace of the workshop is intentionally slow, allowing time and space for reflection, sharing and setting intentions. It is practical rather than content heavy.   It is preferable to facilitate this course with access to a natural outdoor space because Ecotherapy is encouraged for reducing stress and improving mood.   However, if this is not possible, the content can easily be adapted for indoor delivery.

Below is an outline, but the unique experience and dynamic of each group will dictate where time and attention is focused.

-        Introductions to group and facilitator

-        Looking up from lockdown.

-        Where are we?   Here and now.

-        Simple techniques for wellbeing:  Ecotherapy, breathing and gratitude

-        Setting intentions for the future

-        Closing Circle with sign posting to additional support

The number of participants is dependent on venue size, indoor and outdoor space must accommodate the group sitting and/or standing in a circle or semi-circle with recommended social distancing requirements. This can be discussed at time of booking.
